We’ve only got nine weeks left, and I want to make the most of every second we have in class, so buckle up and hold on!
After handing back midterm exams (and discussing the success rate on essay tests v. written tests), we talked about the evolution of the democratic party’s political platform. I reviewed 1876 and 1928, then students read the platforms from 1932 and 1936, analyzing how the party changed in 1936. Then students broke into groups to work on Booklet #10, documents 1-2. We had some great class discussions, especially on the question of whether the Constitution can actually fail. Whatever you didn’t get finished in class needs to be finished at home.
I missed you guys and look forward to learning even more these last few weeks. We can make it to May!
